Andrea Ćović Vidović

Head of Media and Deputy Head of the European Commission Representation in Croatia

Andrea Čović Vidović has almost 20 years of experience in EU and public affairs, diplomacy, communication, management, and mentoring.

Since 2022, she has been the Head of Media and Deputy Head of the European Commission Representation in Croatia. Since its inauguration in 2013 to 2022, she headed public relations for the European Parliament Liaison Office in Croatia.

She worked as a diplomat on Croatia’s EU membership negotiations at the Croatian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, as well as an EU policies lecturer for the public sector. She headed EU sectors at the Croatian Customs Administration and the Ministry of Labour. She worked as an adviser on international cultural projects at the Institute for International Relations and Development in Zagreb and as coordinator of international ICT projects for UNIQA insurance.

She holds a master’s degree in contemporary European Studies (Sussex University, UK) and in German and English Studies (University of Zagreb). She studied International Relations and German at the Technical University of Dresden and conducted her PhD research in Comparative Politics at the University of Zagreb and the Johns Hopkins University.

She is an alumna of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the US Fulbright Programme, and the British Chevening Programme.
